A. This Week’s Special:-
Applied Economics: The Arvind Subramanian Way
Arvind Subramanian is the Chief Economic Advisor to the government of India. He was Assistant Director in the Research Department of the IMF, served at the GATT, and taught at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and at Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. In 2011, Foreign Policy Magazine named him one of the top 100 global thinkers. He obtained his undergraduate degree from St. Stephens College, Delhi; MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad; and M.Phil. and D.Phil. from the University of Oxford, UK.
Recently he has taken time off from his regular schedule to hold classes for a week (June 11 – June 17) on applied economics at IIT Delhi. His classes are part of the ‘Summer School for Economics Teachers’, a seven-day programme organised by the ministries of finance and human resource development to popularize open online courses.
